Stephanie and I were down in Sanibel FLA when Bill passed last month and we didn't learn of it until today when finally going thru E Mail sent on by son Steve, who with his then-wife Sandy was befriended by Bill and Blanche when they arrived at Warley UK as new recruits to Ford of Europe's legal staff.
It was always such a joy to work with Bill. Our friendship lasted thru many different ups and downs in our Ford careers, and we became among the survivors who proved willing and able to work with and for lots of talented if somewhat Mercurial masters.

Also remember one (or more?) of Bill's daughters, arranging dealer trips to St Martin for those who had surpasaed quotas. The good ole days! Blanche. we hope you are doing OK and maybe we will see you -- for our part, we have been in Henry Ford Village sr-citizen hangout for the last five years or so; lots of good friends and still able to stay (SOMEWHAT) active. Good luck and blessings.

We had planned to attend the Memorial Service at St. Hugos in Bloomfield HIlls. However, we have a family matter in San Francisco this weekend and will miss the Memorial Service. It saddens us not to have a chance to say good-be to a dear friend and offer condolences to Blanche and the children. We hope to see Blanche this summer and we want to spend some time with her on the Terrace and/or the golf course.
Our love to you all. Lynn & J

I worked under Bill Benton's guidance at Ford in Europe and was always impressed by his businesss knowledge, executive ability and friendly style. Bill was a noteable individual who made his presence felt wherever he went. Without doubt, "he left a good trail".
